A low-fi video with a hi-fi content filmed and recorded on an iPad. The video documents a concert event at Dalum Church, Odense Denmark titled 'Dalum Kirke revisited'.
The concert was a so-called 'site-responsive' concert event, and it was the first part of two combined events! You can read more about the format and the particular event at https://ballhaus.dk/
The hymn as a theme
Each site-responsive concert has its own theme, which relates in various ways to the performance site. In this first part of 'Dalum Kirke revisited', the overall focus was on church music and hymns.
Hymns and music are an important part of Dalum Kirke's identity, and during the concert the audience was presented to a number of older, and lesser known hymn melodies performed in different and experimental ways. The (lack of) daylight and the general mood of the autumn season created a very special atmosphere for the concert.
