Lysets engel' [Angel of light] is a well-known Danish hymn from the Romantic era, composed by C.E.F. Weyse in 1837.
Nevertheless in this modern version by Poul Udbye Pock-Steen for mezzo-soprano, clarinet in Bb and harpsichord, the original light-minded melody by Weyse is forced on a trip towards the darker hidden sides of the mind .....
